I'm not a photographer.
Let me rephrase that. Hi, my name is Jason Spooner, and I take pictures for fun. And then I post some of those pictures on websites like this one, where cool people like you might see them and like to look at them. You might even tell your friends about me or dedicate a novel to me or something. Whatever you feel comfortable with. We're internet friends now, and I would never tell you what to do with your life.
I started my not-at-all-professional photography journey as a kid in the mid '80s with a Kodak Ektralite camera and a few cartridges of Kodak 35mm film. In 2001, I bought my first digital camera, a 2MP HP behemoth. But it was my iPhone 3GS in 2009 that really sparked my love for taking pictures.
In 2022, I bought my first "professional" camera, a Fujifilm X-T3, which I later traded in for an X-T5. I mostly gravitate toward street photography, people, and architecture. The beauty in design and the stories in the moment. Being challenged to find new perspectives and bring them to life in color, light, and shadows. Creating something new from what already was.
If you're reading this, thank you. Please make yourself at home, and if you wanna take our internet friendship to the next level, feel free to follow me on Instagram, Bluesky, and Foto.
