I'm not a photographer.
Let me back up. Hi, my name is Jason Spooner, and I take pictures sometimes. And then I post those pictures on websites like this one, where cool people like you might see them and like to look at them. You might even follow me on other apps like Instagram and Bluesky. Because we're friends now, and that's what friends do.
I started my part time picture-taking journey as a kid in the mid '80s with a Kodak Ektralite camera and a few cartridges of film. In 2001, I bought my first digital camera, a 2MP HP behemoth. But it was my iPhone 3GS in 2009 that really sparked my love for taking pictures.
In 2022, I bought my first "professional" camera, a Fujifilm X-T3, which I later traded in for an X-T5. I mostly gravitate toward street photography, people, and architecture. The beauty in design and the stories in the moment. Being challenged to find new perspectives and bring them to life in color, light, and shadows. Creating something new from what already was.
If you're reading this, thank you. Please make yourself at home, and I'll see you on the streets.
